Here you can find more about my own publications and about inspiring books by others, which I can highly recommend.

My own book The Forgotten Ecosystem Service of Trees is available! Hopefully The History of Eya will follow soon, because it illustrates and clarifies my message incredibly well.

The story of Eya

'Eya' is the oldest written mention of yew: in an Old Hittite cuneiform from approx. 1750-1500 BC, found in present-day Turkey.

Eya is the sacred tree with apples and acorns.

Fred Hageneder's book A Yew History can easily be called the most complete reference work on yew. I am glad that I was allowed to translate it: it allowed me to dive into it completely! In this publication, the first part on morphology and ecology was strongly summarized. The second part on cultural significance was translated as accurately as possible and a third on the situation in Belgium and the Netherlands was added.

The forgotten ecosystem service of trees

This book is the result of a lifelong fascination with trees and the multidisciplinary research that flows from it. From a young age I have been drawn to powerful trees and places. The real adventure began when I realized that the two are linked.

The direct reason to start writing was some painful situations due to the contradiction between the vision of trees in the forest and nature sector and that of 'ordinary' people. While writing I noticed that people from outside the sector were happy with my story, especially those who are involved in awareness in one way or another. The importance of it becomes clearer to me with every enthusiastic reaction. Moreover, Eya's story is the perfect illustration of my book.

Recent books have taught us a lot about these ancient co-inhabitants on earth, to whom all life (as we know it) is due. But do you know the difference between male and female tree species (in an energetic or shamanistic context)? How trees really function energetically, both individually and on a species level, is still hardly known. Although that part has become more important today than ever before and it is the key to finally understanding the symbol of the Tree of Life again. It is precisely this forgotten ecosystem service that offers the ultimate explanation for all the benefits we experience when forest bathing and consciously connecting with trees. Trees can stimulate our subconscious and inspire us to evolve from an anthropocentric to an ecocentric worldview.
